What Does 'Tandem' mean?
The word tandem is of Latin origin, meaning 'at length.' The more current and relevant definition is 'alongside each other, together.' It is commonly used when speaking of seating: bicycles, aircrafts, and horse-drawn buggies. There are times it is meant for one to be in front of another (such as a tandem bicycle). However, in this company it means an equal partnership, working together with your dog. In Tandem Dog Training, we strive for our dogs to desire to work, and to have drive to please. The best way to achieve this is by having a strong relationship between handler and dog- we are here to help that bond flourish.
Which is easier, making a dog do something they don't want to, or asking them to do something they love?
